My
2 Cents Commentary by David Max The rebuilding process continues. I watched the game at the Californians for Nebraska watch site in San Clemente with about 25 other Husker fans and we all enjoyed what we saw. You can see that things are moving in the right direction and there is a lot of talk about the loss to Missouri being the turning point of the season. Baylor is up next at home and this Baylor team is not your father's Oldsmobile and needs to be taken seriously. The realistic goal this season is a trip to a bowl game and each game is important in that regard. If we get off to the same start as the Iowa State game it should be another "W". The key to the game will be containing Robert Griffin and I believe that will happen. Having that extra month of practice will be important for next year. There is a thread on the BBS comparing the first seven games this year with last year and even though the records are identical the trend is in the opposite direction. Last year the record was 5-7. This year it will be better and will end on a positive note to build on for next year. It is a lot easier for Husker fans to show patience when you see the consistent play on both sides of the ball like the last two games. Also on the BBS, the coaches continue to get a lot smarter and the players are playing better. Look for that to continue. The attitude of the players show that they expect to win when they step on the field. It is really nice to see that again after a very long absence. Just my 2 cents. What about yours? GO BIG RED!!! PS: Today is the 35th wedding anniversary of one of my college roommates, close friend and fishing buddy, Bob Anderson of Kearney. I was best man in their wedding. Congratulations to Bob and Lisa. | ||||||||||||||||
