“Do you
suffer from chronic pain or stress? I believe the theory that posture
and gait patterning (walk), have a great influence on the muscles
and soft tissue in the body. All muscles work in pairs in the body.
There are muscles on the front of the body as well as the back of
the body which make movements and also act upon joints. These have
to be in balance to keep the planes of the body intact. As a medical
massage practitioner and licensed massage therapist, I have worked
with clients with chronic pain or just relaxation using this theory.
I have had great results in helping to reduce or eliminate pain in
symptoms such as TMJ, whiplash, wryneck, shoulder problems, frozen
shoulder, tendinitis, upper back pain, lower back pain, sciatic pain,
headaches, knee pain, feet problems, usually brought on by poor posture
and misalignment of the planes of the body.
Massage techniques used to reduce pain are neuromuscular therapy,
orthopedic techniques, PNF stretching, medical massage, sports massage,
trigger point therapy, Swedish, strain-counter strain, and other modalities.
Helping reduce pain has helped individuals live more productive lifestyles
free from pain and stress.
I grew up in Omaha and my deceased father was a two year letterman
in baseball at NU in 1934-35, formerly a coach at Omaha Benson High
School, baseball and basketball for 35 years. He also coached American
Legion baseball (Omaha Dugdales). I graduated from Benson High in
1968, and received my massage therapy certificate from Dr. Welbes
school of Massage Therapy in 1989 in Omaha, and State license in 1989
in Nebraska. I have owned my own business for 20 years in Ft. Collins,
Colorado, specializing in chronic pain, auto injuries, and workman’s
comp., and relaxation massage. Along with the Center of Advanced Massage
Therapy, I also provide massage on the stroke, brain and spinal cord
injury floor at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, and shortly will be providing
massage at the Alegent Health Clinic in Bellevue. I have provided
massage therapy in the past to the Colorado Eagles hockey team, and
the Colorado Venom indoor football team in its first year, along with
owning the Rocky Mountain Connection Sports Massage team. I have also
worked The World Disabled Ski Championships in 1992 and was accepted
to the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta to provide massage for the athletes.
I am currently teaching classes in Overland Park, Kansas, at BMSI Institute, and in the past at Hamilton College’s Massage Therapy program, and at Academy of Natural Therapy 6 years in Greeley, Colorado.
