Wes is a native Nebraskan and graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. While at UNL, Wes was a proud member of the Lambda Nu chapter of Phi Gamma Delta and served as the Battalion Commander for UNL’s Army ROTC Big Red Battalion. After UNL, Wes left Nebraska and entered the U.S. Army where he flew UH-60 Black Hawks on Medevac missions all over the world.

After retiring from the Army, Wes and his wife (who was a letter winning gymnast at UNL) settled in Fairbanks where they and their children enjoy the adventures of the Last Frontier. On Husker game days, Wes and the local contingent of Alaskan Nebraskans can be found faithfully cheering on the Big Red.
