Project Comfort™ at Husker Pavilion before
Missouri Football Game and at
NU Exhibition Basketball Game Oct. 30

Project Comfort™ Foundation will be attending the Husker Pavilion pre-game festivities before the University of Nebraska vs. University of Missouri football game on October, 30 in Lincoln, Nebraska and at the Bob Devaney Sports Complex for the 4:00 p.m. tip off of an exhibition University of Nebraska Basketball Team.

Husker and Tiger fans will be asked to clean out their closets, and bring stuffed animals, or dolls to the Pavilion to donate to the Project Comfort™ Foundation. Staff from Project Comfort™ Foundation, and members of the Nebraska Army and Air National Guard will be collecting the animals and dolls to be delivered to Ft. Riley, Kansas, and then to be sent on to Nebraska Army and Air Force National Guard men and women serving on active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Project Comfort™ Foundation is dedicated to providing “gifts of comfort” to our soldiers, their families, and to the children of the civilian population in combat areas, as well as on-going education and training for all veterans in the matters of dealing with, and helping treat troops with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

The Project Comfort™ Foundation has proven that the simple kindness of providing “gifts of comfort” (stuffed animals and dolls) to the children in combat areas SAVES LIVES and substantially reduces the hostilities and casualties to our servicemen and women.

The Project Comfort™ Foundation is reaching out to every person and business to help bring more of our soldiers home safe and sane, to give them a proper welcome home, and to promote positive relationships between U.S. soldiers and the local populations wherever our troops are deployed. Please visit the web site at www.projectcomfort.com for more information.

Singer and songwriter Robert Hildreth of Wamego, Kansas will be performing selections from the Project Comfort™ CD on the Husker Radio Network pre-game show from the Pavilion. You can learn more about the Project Comfort™ Redeployment CD that was produced by Robert and The Project Comfort™ Foundation to thank our returning soldiers from Iraq for their sacrifice and service to our country. Please click here for more information on the ways you can help the foundation with its mission can be found here.

The songs that Robert Hildreth (owner of POTTCOUNTYMUSICMILL.COM) have written range from controversial to heart breaking, and were all selected for their own unique potential to connect with soldiers who have served (or are currently deployed) and their families. The music will stir the emotions of any person who has served or has been a part of the life of one who has served during this challenging time in their lives.

Additional collection points for the stuffed animals and dolls will also be manned by the Project Comfort™ staff and Nebraska Guard men and women at the Bob Devaney Sports Complex for the 4:00 p.m. tip off of an exhibition University of Nebraska Basketball Team. Robert is donating three free Project Comfort™ CDs to the soldiers deployed overseas for everyone he sells in the United States.

Robert Hildreth will also be performing at the basketball game.

Project Comfort™ Foundation asks you to take time to thanks a soldier for their sacrifice and service. All too often we take for granted those simple things such as a “thank you letter.” But when you magnify the situation and it means answering the ultimate “call of duty” from your country, these simple little gestures mean everything when you are thousands of miles away from home, maybe for the first time in your life and people are shooting at you.

To these soldiers a letter from home or a “care package” containing those things that remind them most of the things they left behind, mean more than words can express.

To this end, the Project Comfort™ Foundation is appealing to every man, woman, child, company and organization to take just a little bit of time and send letters of thanks to these servicemen and women, so that they never doubt that those of us back home appreciate what they are doing and have NOT forgotten them.

Letters can be e-mailed (ourtroops@projectcomfort.com) or mailed. And it doesn't matter how long the letter is, how fancy, and spelling DOESN’T count. As in everything truly meaningful, IT’S THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS.

All “Letters of Thanks” will be displayed at this website (READ THE LETTERS) so that no soldier will ever doubt how many of us appreciate the job they are doing including the time, effort and sacrifices on our behalf.

Schools, companies and organizations are encouraged to pass the email address (ourtroops@projectcomfort.com) around to EVERYONE - no excuses. And if your school or organization would like to do more than just send letters, please contact us, and we will provide you with many ways your organization can help support our servicemen and women and their families.
