Our blocking was great. Our passing was great. I was very pleased.” Nebraska held Texas Tech to just 12 points in game one, the lowest single-game scoring output by a Husker opponent this season. Sara Westling served the first nine points of the game for NU before Heather Hughes-Justice finally stopped the opening run with a kill. The senior outside hitter made it 19-6 later with her second kill of the game, but it would not get closer than that. Pilakowski and Metcalf each produced three kills down the stretch, and Kropp slammed her second kill of the match for the 30-12 win. The Red Raiders bounced back in game two. Nebraska led 10-8 when Johnson notched three straight kills to give Tech an 11-10 advantage, its first lead of the match. Nebraska widened its lead to nine with a barrage of kills by Anna Schrad, Cepero and Holmquist. Cepero and Holmquist combined to block Johnson to force a game-point situation.
